Mayweather: McGregor wins if fight takes too long

The fight between boxing’s Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor this coming August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena, is going to make the people who will watch be amazed and delighted. This will not happen if that’s not the reason.

Mayweather said, “Come August 26, me, McGregor, Showtime and the UFC – will be the happiest people on earth. We’re talking about a billion-dollar fight.”

How about the people? They will either be present physically in the arena or viewers will pay $999.99 to watch home in HD. Will they be the happiest people on earth too?

The Undefeated American boxer has promised they will. When they fought with Manny Pacquiao in the richest fight in the history of boxing, he clearly said that he “owes” fans of what happened then because of the faulty decision.

During his media workout on Thursday, he said this bout will undeniably be the last fight of his career in boxing, admitted for the first time that he wants to win the fight and entertain the public as well.

Mayweather told ESPN, “I’ll give the fans what they want to see. McGregor said the fight wouldn’t last more than four rounds, so I’m saying the fight won’t go past four. So, I guess it’s a four-round fight.”

The 40-year-old, Floyd Mayweather has failed in his seven last fights to knock out his opponents. His most recent knockouts were against Victor Ortiz in September 2011, but even that came under strange circumstances, as his opponent, Victor Ortiz was looking away at the referee.

Talking about the most controversial fight against Pacquiao, despite the fact against Manny, which earned $72 million gates and more than $400 million in pay-per-view check, was widely condemn by the public, this match against McGregor will as expected to earn more money. Mayweather’s advisor Leonard Ellerbe said to exceed the record in 2015.

Mayweather said, “When’s it’s something of this magnitude, this is not just a fight. This is an event, a billion-dollar event. I think we both owe the fans, everyone that’s turned in. I think we both should give them excitement.”
